Kenny, no big deal buddy. I just sprayed the steel ends with clear coat before installation, stainless would have been great but don't see that stainless would really be needed as their below deck, and sealed above deck with rubber washers between the bolster plate and deck.

Follow up on the sun deck removal.............:-(, looks like more work needed rolleyes:. Fiberglass is cracked on the 90 degree joint that the hinge bolts to allowing lots of flex, surprised it hasn't cracked the inside of that area of the gel-coat. I think the cracked glass was do to the angle of the original hatch lift, which actually put allot of lateral force on the hatch.... ::eek:: Not really a great design, very little bracing in its construction. Looks like I'll be getting out the fiberglass and resin to do some patch work and add some supports gussets, just when I thought I was getting close to being done.........:mad. Since I'm going to do all this glass work as well as add some aluminum plates on the hatch, I've decided that I'll be adding another LENCO HATCH LIFT to reduce the out of square lifting by the new one I've installed that's placed off center. This should give the hatch a long, long life without further issues once I'm all done. Pic's to follow.............

Second LENCO ENGINE HATCH LIFT installed, I'm like'n it allot better with two lifts:

Now it's onto some fiberglass work to add a little support back at the hinge area which I'll post up in the "MODS" thread.
