Getting on plane is tricky because it feels like it cavitates really bad. Will the 30 p prop make that better? I'm definitely no gonna use the Hydro if makes getting on plane worse. I appriciate all of your input. I'm loving my Velocity.

im getting 30% slip at 40mph and a little under 25% at 60. Faster i go the less slip. Big boat high drive. Im sure the 390 does better . My slip did go down with the sl4 props but like i said the bravo 1's werent true. Im hoing to try the BBLADES 4 speed in the spring. They say it will guve me mored bow lift. My boat is a little heavier. Be careful getting to much bite. You might blow up the outdrives if you have bravo's. Just talked to some people about that same issue . They went down to like 9% and outdrives went. 382 formula with bravo's 500 efi

How much are you guys trimming your boat to get it on the pad?

For the longer Velocity hulls, it's more a function of achieving a threshold speed than trim. I can "feel" the pad start to work in the mid 60's with moderate trim.

After watching some videos you can see how much higher the 390 rides in the water than the 410. 1000lbs lighter. Man that thing just flies doesnt it. Woohoo.awsome

I've been taking my 39 out getting use to it and the speed because My last boat was a 1988 272 Formula with small blocks that ran 60 all in. My little formula was a great boat! But this Velocity is simply awesome. I've taken a few of my buddies out that are in the go fast boat industry and they can't believe how smooth it rides and how good it turns.
I trimed it up last weekend and got 76 on GPS with 4 people and both tanks 3/4 full. It was turning 4900 rpm with 32 p props.
I am installing a set of 30 p labbed props this weekend so I am optimistic that it will run in the 80's. A lot of guys around my way don't know what a Velocity is but my boat is getting popular around here quick. Can't wait till next summer to silence some big mouths on the bay. 80's with stock 500!?!? This hull is simply bad ass. Thanks again to the guys on this thread for advice!

Seems the faster you go the harder bites into the turns. My 320 I know would toss you out of the boat in a tight turn if you weren't hanging on and on a straight it felt like bass boat. Not much hull in the water. The 410 doesn't turn quick at say 30 but when you lay into the throttles she bites right in and yes you better be hanging on. Lol

Are you turning your props in or out.
I just discovered mine are turning in. Also what gear ratios did the 390's with XR's and 500 efi's come with.
Thanks.
