Hi,
i have buyed a empty hull of a VR1. So it will be a lot of work! :D Like the VR1 a ITS- or Extension-Box with or without shorty? How much is the difference? I'm very grateful and interested in all of your recommendations and tips!!! Thanks Timm |

Quite the project you are undertaking...
You reside in Northern Germany by chance (RD or RDG)? |
Congrats! Please tell us more about the hull. Was it ever rigged? I have a VR i but it has standard Bravo XR not a shorty I am sure others will pitch in with pros and cons of a shorty vs standard. If you need pics of how my VR 1 is rigged....Let me know.
Good luck, Padraig |

Many use small tractors to move complete boats around the flat part of yard / boat yard. |
Info about a shorty on the VR 1 hull.
Congrats on the project!!

Good luck, Padraig Iīm verry interested of all detail pics of the VR1. How shows the engine mounts? where is the original position of trim pumps? Whats the original high of the seats? So much questions... The pre owner says itīs a stolen boat. Build in 2003, stolen in 2006 and only the hull is sold in 2009 from velocity USA to the pre owner. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...acc57ebf7a.jpg This was the original design 2003 https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...7836a7a57b.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...e54b9aa3f5.jpg This was the design in 2009 https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...02c74cb7d0.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...052449b42f.jpg The pre owner sanded the red paint. |

The Golf may pull 3748 lbs. The hull with fuel tank have a weight of around 2000 lbs. Thats no problem for the verry smal car. The complete boat have a weight of around 4520 lbs? ....plus trailer! Thatīs to much for the small one! ;) |
Hey guys,
i need the high (and the position) of the VR-1 frontseats. Can you help me please? :) Thanks Timm |
Mine is stored for the winter. If no one chimes in with the info. Contact Scott at Velocity, I am sure he will help.
Good luck, Padraig |
Scott have a message now. ;)
Thanks for help!!!! |
You will find the guys at Velocity very helpful. Good luck with your project. I have the 280 and by the time I am done this winter, the only thing I haven't redone is some of the wiring and some of the dash. I have the interior and sound system gutted right now and will be finishing it this winter, I hope.

And a better trailer!!
We are not allowed to drive US-railers legally in Germany...we need a CE for All. 🤷♂️ |
What engine are you installing in the picture - a Chevy LS? Looks like you moved the trailer axles forward to better balance things without the engine/drive weight in the rear! Best of luck with your project.
