Default And the numbers are in.

The BES 385 Inch stroker went to the dyno on Monday and even though it didn't make the predicted 500HP. I am very impressed with the numbers of this engine. almost 465 HP and 507TQ and this pull was with a 2 inch flame arrestor on the engine. The engine lost 5HP with the arrestor on the engine at 469.4HP. So not that far off from the predicted number and the torque curve is very impressive. For such a mild build the little engine did very well. Tony Bischoff was very impressed with the Straub Tech cam as well as Chris's recommendation on the heads and intake. Tony was in full agreement with all of the parts that Chris recommended as everything was ran past Tony before being used. Looks like the parts that Chris recommended does actually work in real world numbers. This engine should motivate my 22 Velocity very good. Stay tuned for some MPH numbers when the weather brakes.

Man, what a beautiful torque curve!
That is actually flat!

Congrats.

So many people get caught up in peak hp #’s w/no torque bellow 5k and can’t figure out why their boats a turd.

Your Velocity should rip!

what effect on those numbers do you think the exhaust you'll be using on the boat will be?

Stainless Marine says the exhaust will have minimal parasitic effect on engine power because of the short 6 inch riser height and long riser length. The water isn't injected until maybe 3 inches before the 4 inch tailpipes. My rubber exhaust hoses are only about 6 inches long. People that know a lot more than I do are predicting 35-50HP total parasitic loss from front accessories, exhaust and the Bravo one X.

Interesting numbers, the L86 in my Yukon with an AFM delete kit CAI, Exhaust and a little tune is running the same numbers with all accessories attached. If it pulls like my Yukon it will be a fun boat for sure. I've seen some great builds with the World Products cross over block that runs LS heads, something to think about for the next build.
