MadDog: I recently sold my 2000 280 with a Whipplecharged 502 mag with Whipple's larger throttle body. Only other mods were hydraulic steeering, offshore water pickups, sea strainer, and drive shower. I turned a Bravo 1 30" ... the hydromotives were useless ... break loose too easy. Perfect conditions I could go 85mphgps ... with any number of people and any amount of gas ... at least 80mphgps. Obviously something is wrong with your's ...
Rippem: You sold poor BajaDave that boat anchor? Just kidding ... sure he'll love it. Must say I've enjoyed being boatless this summer. Just got back from San Francisco, enjoying the Heritage Softail, and pick up my new Subaru WRX tomorrow. Just different toys ...

I too had a 280 and I know for a fact the boat can handle hp. I have ran near the 100 mark on several occassions and have several friends that are now doing it with consistency. Of course the hp is there. Around 750 to 800. I would venture to say you have approximately 600 hp with your present setup. This should yield approximately 82-84 mph. Bravo will handle the best but the hydromotive will be the fastest.

any heads-up is appreciated. When is that run anyway? He will trailer the boat the rest of this season I'm sure, so maybe he'll come down?
