When I first got mine I was having trouble falling off the pad in the upper 70's. It would always fall off to the port side and go into a chine walk. Once you get the feel for it , you can correct before you fall off the pad. All you have to do is give the steering wheel a quick jerk to the right and it will stay right on the pad. After you run it for a while in all kinds of conditions you will have it down. BTW it will run a lot better in the rough, than the calm stuff.

Just came across this, I run 81.7 witha a blown 509, Seem fesable or should i be going more H.P. is supposidly around 650/700 range, I notice though when i get it on plane i have to trim it right away if not the prop just slips like crazy and raise the rpms real fast, Normal? i have a few hours on the boat now and learning how to drive it trying my best so far anyway. Ive had a few differant exsoeriences so far mostly good. I want to ride right on that "pad" and get as much speed as possable, I did get into a chine walk around 70'ish the prop is a hydromotive 28p thanks all for your help and if anyone is ever ion the area or is in the area more then happy to have you show me how to drive it. Also i hope i make velocity fest love to get some real hands on input and info thanks all

try a 28p bravo. i had a hydro on mine before the new engine and put a bravo on after the new engine. The bravo seems to bite a lot harder. i get up on a plane, then trim up to just about the point where you see a tiny rooster tail and keep that trim through the cruise speed range. When i'm gettin it, i put the stick to the dash and then trim up till the rpms and mphs stop climbing.

I also run a 28p Bravo 1, labbed by BBLADES.

yep...26p bravo (1.36:1 gears) bravo is a better all around prop

I am going to give mike[ sick stinger] my 26 lab b1 to try this week the hydro 28 seemed to give to much stern lift and not bow lift to me. I have a pad on my baja ol24 it likes the B1 but I am at the rev limiter at 6000rpm and 83.2gps. so I will see how mikes likes it and then if its good he should try a 28 or 30 b1 because my 26 should be to small with that blower motor. oh and yes his 26 is a very nice boat, hull and cockpit and ride . anyone try a 2''shortie:D . that woke up my boat. art

Trim
I have an 02 280 stock 496mag HO. Running B1 26 prop. My boat has scared me a few times with chine walking. It is possible i didnt give it enough trim? I typically don't go over the first line on the Griffin gauge, so i guess that about 1/4-1/3 possitive trim. I have no tabs and no hyd steering just yet. Looking to swing full hyd steering in a couple weeks. Any help would be great.
