Fastest Velocity?

The CGS went fast 15 years ago when it was being raced . Probably hasn't run in 10 years . I looked at putting her back together two different times , IMO it would cost me more to do than it's worth . In the end she's a heavy old race boat with a narrow resale market . The newer 390's and 410's are much lighter and have a more user friendly layout . Who's going the fastest now ? We know the staggard blue 390' is said to run mid to high teens . Any other Velocity's 390 or 410's w/700 or more built since then ?

I still think about putting her back together myself , I talked with Kevin back in the fall before I bought the Fountain . By the time I went through the drives 15k, put in motors ? and transmissions 5k , then rigging and labor 10k , it didn't make sence for me . He is still running crash boxes in the boat . Add to that new exhust is 15k , props are 5k . They told me at the factory aprox 10k for new interior and 10k to paint the hull . It starts to add up quick . The used and repo market has to many people willing to take low offers on turn key boats for me to justify taking on a project like that right now . In the end , it's a lot more than a 16 year old race boat is worth in today's market . Still might do it down the road if she's available and the MTI sells
