Velocity Shopping
I am looking at a '96 Thoroughbred/Velocity. It has a Mercruiser 7.4 MPI with about 40 hours on it and a Bravo 1 drive. The boat has about 150 hours on it. It has Gaffrig gauges, Mercruiser 280 K-Planes and Imco dual external full hydraulic steering. The owner is asking $35,000. Does this sound about right? NADA guide puts it at $26,000 to $31,000. This is the first velocity I have had the pleasure of driving. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Velocity Shopping
If you can find any Velocity in that size for less than 30 you have found something. Most are going from the low 30's on up to some of the newer ones selling in the 80's. Good luck.

Re: Velocity Shopping
I have a buyer I am waiting for him to send the funds. I plan to go without a sportboat for a year or 2 to expand my business. I still have a fishing boat & plan on staying active in the VOG and will be looking fo a bigger Velocity in the future.

Re: Velocity Shopping
Furball, I have a 2000 280 Velocity for sale. I purchased it brand new in September of 2001. It is a beautiful boat custom paint job from Velocity factory. It is a red white and blue paint scheme with a cool looking paint splatter on the deck. It has been a great boat for me. It has only seen fresh water on the St. Lawrence River in upstate N.Y. the boat just turned 132 hours this weekend! It has never been in any poker runs and has been stored in a garage when not in use! It has a 502mag with a four blade hydromotive prop on it with a Bravo 1 drive. The drive still has the bar code tags on it from the factory. I don't think you will see a cleaner boat around than this. I am not sure what type of money you are willing to spend but I am looking to get around $57,000 for it it also has a 2000 Road Runner trailer with it that I had professionally stripped down sandblasted and repainted in October of 2004. If you are interested I would be happy to send you some pictures of it.. If anyone is interested feel free to contact me by email or phone.. 315-764-3403 I am looking to go to a 39' footer in the near future.. Thanks
