Ok guys, I was asked to post my testing numbers on here so here I go. Today the weather was great and conditions were ideal to get some good numbers. I ran my boat with probably 4/5 to 3/4 tank of fuel which is 130 gallons full, and just me in the boat. Also remember im running on the st lawrence river so the current does affect numbers. I started with the bravo1 26 pitch first. Against current at cruise I ran at 3600 rpm with a top speed of 43.2 mph, and the drive trimmed at 2. With current I ran at 3600 rpm, with a speed of 46.1, drive same place. At wide open I ran at 5350 rpm, with me toying with the drive between 4.5- 5 with a top speed of 75.1mph. Next I put the boat on the trailer, switched to the cutting edge and ran the same exact tract and distance in the same locations. I ran against current, at cruise, 3600rpm I had a speed of 44.3 and drive also at 2. Then With current it ran 48mph even with the same rpm and drive trim. At wot it ran 74.8 at 5400rpm. So with those findings, both props are very comparable. At wide open throttle, the bravo1 ran at a slip of 14%. The cutting edge prop ran at 19%. With that said, I'm going to give them A call on Monday, and see if there is a mod to be done that might bring that slip number down a little which might transfer to a possible gain. All in all, I'm happy with their customer service, they have been great about calling me back within a few hours, I received the prop within a couple days when I should have. I'd like to see my rpm back down to 5200-5300 out of either prop. Because of conditions, with water and air being relatively cold, I will run a 100 rpm higher now compared to the heart of summer, but I know 5400rpm is a little past power band. Opinions? Thoughts? What do you guys think?

I sent 3X32" B1 to cutting edge to freshen up & tweak a little. I got them back today just in time to head to LOTO tomorrow.15 days turn around with holiday. They look nice, quick turn around time & great prices but the real test will come this weekend. I will post results.

I got my prop back last week so I was able to run it briefly on Sunday. With me, the g/f in the boat and a full tank of fuel, I ran 73 mph exactly, at 5200-5250 rpm which is where is like to be rpm wise. Calculated out, it still puts me at 19% slip. There was a strong sidewind with a little I'm my face also, so we will see this weekend with hopefully a little better conditions.

I've been talking with Brett of Bblades for the last 6 months about my Baja Islander 208, 454, bravo1, running a Mirage 23p. I emailed them on July 2nd or 3rd, and didn't hear back, so I called yesterday July 8th. Hey ya gotta cut him some slack it was a holiday weekend. I talked with Brett back in March and had decided to send him my Mirage 23p as it had a little damage from wear and tear. I remember him telling me $300 or $350, to repair and lab, when I called yesterday to confirm and check what the turn around time would be. Kayla quoted me $389 plus the repair work, or something close to that. I then talked with Brett ( I called him "Brad") We agreed to disagree, as he says he never would have quoted that low, his price has always been $389. When I talked with Kayla she said I must have talked to him in January or February as their prices were lower in the slow time of the year. I told Brett I very disappointed he spends alot of time on these forums and in advertising, and that I don't do business with people who change pricing like this. Cutting Edge Propellers and Auggie are fixing and labbing my prop for $175. Brett's comment was "ya get what ya pay for" I've been getting 62 to 64 GPS mph at 4200 to 4400 rpm, we will see. I don't want to put words in anyones mouth, but this is the way I remember it. I'm sure Brett would say his price was to same the whole time. All this being said I will post how the Cutting Edge Prop does and yes I will go to back to Brett if I'm not happy with the performance. I'm not questioning the quality of Brett's work.

Hello Kurt,
First I would like to say I'm sorry for the confusion you have experienced. Our Bravo 1 Lab Finishing price has been $392 since January 1st 2013. Each year we have a winter special in Jan and Feb. where the cost is reduced to $320. Other than that, the pricing never waivers on Lab Finishing. Repairs of course are different as they must be quoted on a individual basis.
You may have spoken to me (Brett) in March. At that time I may have mentioned the winter special but would have made it clear the price then (March) was $392.
You are mistaken as to who you spoke to yesterday. You did not speak to me. You spoke to Kaila first who quoted $392 plus extra if there was any major damage. You then spoke to Brad. Brad quoted you the same pricing of $392 and that all minor repairs come along with that pricing. Brad informed me of the conversation immediately following the conversation. Brad came to me because he was concerned you had hung up on him after stating you disappointment with the pricing and our business and that you could get this done elsewhere cheaper. Brad was trying to explain the pricing has been the same for months.
These pricing numbers we quote are used daily so it is difficult to believe we would come up with numbers you believe are in the $300-$350, or the $389 you seem to remember.
Yes Kurt, I will say BBLADES pricing has been the same all year because it has been. No disrespect intended but, you can see in your own post above, you don't even have the quote you received yesterday correct. Nobody ever said $389
Yes I do spend a lot of time on this forum. I have been offering free advice here for 8 years as BBLADES owner and occasionally as a representative for Mercury Racing for some time prior to that.. Sometimes I get praise for offering input and most of the times I do not. I certainly hope that people who visit this forum will consider us for their prop work but whether they do or not, I still come here to help the performance boating public.
Because I run a well respected business who I believe is in a special class of craftsmen, I don't make up pricing day to day nor do the people who work for me.
I hope your propping experience works well.
