Well I want people to stay in boating especially whom own inboard and I/O boat applications - with that said - Issues and expenses consumed by the boat owner at some point will take them out of boating for good if it becomes too much and overwelming. I want to see boaters stay in boating.
Your statement of wanting boaters to not break down seems opposite of Mercury's thinking. I see it here and other places, OB's are making I/O's Go away.
I see it differently, its mercurys continue use of old technology (BBCs were originally designed in what,,,,,,,,,,,, 62-63 to replace the old 409 based motors), junk warranties (1 year!), and unreliable drives like the Bravo's that are killing the 500-700HP I/O market.
The new Outboards are more reliable, but they are new clean slate designs, I wonder if that much engineering effort was put into I/O's what we could have.

So If i understand you right, you have a new injector that is doing well? Do you sell them?
My plan is to go through my 500's this winter and i would be interested in knowing more. I appreciate your help. thanks

I have very current top name brand injectors ( not any knock offs here ) in my hands. They are installed in a twin boat app as well currently being used as much as possible.. The new injectors have been modified then were ran thru many tests for a plug and play injector swap. It was perfect timing for a testing mule to come out for these as both engines had failed beforehand - well one did and the other was not too far behind.. The original injectors ( multecs) 3 of them would just shut down whenever for a jist, - The other engine injectors seemed ok until you really got testing them --- one would have bad spray patterns after it was heat soaked and one was a low volume producer. So 16 injectors, 30 percent were bad. Not good odds for any boat owner period.
I want to get a good solid 100 hours and alot of hard runs on the twin 500 efi s so I can feel good about selling the current injectors.. My problem is hopefully we do not go into drought here causing low lake levels.

A set of 8 all brand new shipped is 750. And they are flow tested again just before they are boxed up and shipped out. Thats about 90 bucks per injector. These are NOT KNOCK OFFS, All is done here in the USA and all the TESTING as well.
So far the testing (mule) is close to 58 hours run timeframes. Wanted to get 100 hours but its more than half way there. All is very well currently with the twin HP 500 EFI s. I will see it again in 2 weeks - and head to lake with it - check WOT rpms and fuel pressure thru out as well. Fuel samples and of course check scan parameters and verify running hours with scan tool . Also pull spark plugs and examine them very closely.
The owner of the boat has put a ton of faith in me and my services. Thats why I see his boat min every 2 to 3 weeks in person and I look over everything including MY INJECTORS, Actually like many of my customers we have become good friends and that even furthers his trust with anything I do.
