Default Engine rebuild shop recommendation long island NY

I might need to rebuild my 2003 6.2 mpi engine. The engine has about 650 hours, been servicing and maintaining the engine myself for the last few years. The previous owner had an open check with a marina and he took great care of the engine, drive, boat, etc. We had a bunch of water in my oil, not sure what's going on. Been told it might be the head.

Need a good engine rebuilder, who is honest and can diagnose the issue. Been told to just rebuild the engine by many shops a friend mentioned it might not be needed. Said it could be a head gasket or a cracked head. My friends and I who also have boats have had very bad luck with marinas and boat mechanics in our area. We really don't know who to trust and turn to at this point.

If anyone has a recommendation for engine builders or an engine shop on Long island new york, please share information. I might be willing to crate and ship the engine out within 500 miles if a few people keep recommending the same shop further away.

Thank you for all the help and advice.

Saris Performance Marine is in Boulton Landing, NY. That would be one of my first choices in your area.
