I just bought that 1986 nova 2 that's pictured in post #17 of this thread. Could'nt resist... though I needed a forth boat like a whole in my head!!
I had a 73 nova 250 about 10 years ago with a single big block and a trs drive.. and I had a 1983 in 1984/1985... that was a cool boat.. Named "Bad company".. the guy I bought it from owned a chrome shop and had show chromed everything but the engine blocks.. he had way too much time and money to spend on that thing!!
when I saw this 86 near home boat I just had to take one more ride on that merry go round!!
wonder how long it will take me to figure out why I sold the other two I had!!

I'm glad I posted that thing. It looked like a super clean boat, and way too cheap to pass up. If I was in the market for something like that I would have bought it myself... We had an 1986 26' Nova II with twin 260's about 15 years ago. To date that was one of our favorite boats (economical, functional, road well, etc.)

JEEZ.. I thought you'd at least give me until jobbie nooner to figure out I don't need it!!!. Thanks for the good words.. I'd had my eye on the boat for a few months.. pondering my "need" for it.. and just said the heck with it.. and bought it..It's pretty darn clean and the guy who owned it appears to actually have the knowledge and funds to maintain it and had owned it 8 years.
I'll probably keep it at fawn island in the st clair river near marine city.
surely there are "better" boats to buy as far as performace, economy, etc... but the nova really "speaks to me" with all the teak.. let's face it.. we all LOOK at these boats sitting at the dock far more than we DRIVE them.. so I feel it more important to have a boat that you enjoy looking at and polishing/wiping... than a boat that wil go an extra couple miles an hour. the silly thing was less than a jet ski.. what's not to like... a GREAT TOY...
