Hmm, owner of the boat doesn't know what kind of boat it is and has no paperwork? Is it just me or does this sound a little less than above board? I guess he never used or registered the boat so I'm assuming that it is a project boat? Do yourself a favor, try to narrow down your search as to what you want size and manufacturer. Know what your budget is for purchasing the boat and any needed repairs to get it on the water and also what your operational budget is per year. If you decide you can afford to purchase the boat and can afford to run it then shop around, lots of boats out there for sale, find the best one and make your deal. If you can't afford to fix it and run it then its only gonna sit in your driveway like that one is sitting in his. Worst thing for a boat is to sit and not be used, they just turn to dust.
