I have one that was my spare drive on a 21 Scarab. It is the 1.32 gear version and is set up for a stern jack. Was running when I sold the boat with the original alpha I. Needs a new skeg but otherwise fine for a 1986 drive.

I think the answer is yes on the gears but best to check on one of the mercruiser parts websites to see if they list the same part numbers. When I last looked up parts for this drive it was listed under mercury racing parts section, not the standard alpha drive section.
It is a hell of a lot cheaper just to keep the gears and run a lower pitch prop. I ran a 23p with the standard alpha (1.5) and a 21p with the alpha ss (1.32). I think all the BBC/alpha combos back then used the 1.32 gears because of better strength with the higher torque BBC.
To switch from stern jack to standard is simply removing the u-joint and swap the coupler with the the standard knuckle.
Looking to get $3k which is what I paid for it.
