Used Hondas bring a premium price, unless they had the chit ran out of them and dropped off the bridge.
Craigslist in Indy had several Honda 1000's for $550 2 weeks ago. These were units used by the speedway, now being sold. A buddy used to buy 2000's from the speedway as he is on 1 of the teams. I now have 1 of them. Runs and looks like new. Just an option.

2 weeks ago I picked up a Champion 2000W unit from SAMS for $500 for another friend, do to it have the same specs as the Honda, weight, db ratings. SAMS has a no hassle return policy, so we figured nothing to chance if it didn't work out. This unit amazed a bunch of us Honda users. I sat my Honda right next to this Champion and they both were exactly the same as far as noise. It operates his AC, water heater, coffemaker, battery charger, and etc with zero problem, not all at same time. I couldn't feel any weight difference between either units. Might give this Champion a thought.

I'm not sure a 1000 will run an AC....maybe a 5,000 BTU but probably not much more.

I have a Mermaid 6500 BTU in the Fountain and the manual states a 1000 will run it. Never tried it though. If it would, that probably be about all the gen could run, especially when the AC starts up.
