Default Someone stole my #%*! Gas cap

98 scarab 33'- took my a boat to the yard for some work and came back to find gas cap missing!

Of course, no one knows anything - and I cant find a replacement 2" cap.

Does anyone have one or know a website where I can source one?

I'm in upstate ny for the 4th and have a rag in the filler neck

Hillbilly Scarab 33!

Thanks guys.

I have bought a couple for mine and they wont work because of the thread pitch. some appear to be oring seat and have straight cut threads and some are tapered. stop by a hardware store and grab a pvc pipe plug so you can see which you have. It will get you through the weekend without looking AS bad as a rag lol.

I'm here for a bit. Am happy to buy one your willing to sell!

See post below about threads - I know it's a 2" filler neck. Not sure about threads. It's a stock 98 scarab.

I'll take a picture of the threads in the filler neck and post if I can. Otherwise I'll email it directly to you.

Thanks for the note! Happy 4th and getting better.

Is there a West Marine up there? They usually have a few in stock. Your quickest fix might be to replace the whole thru-hull assembly.

I hate to make you worry like this, but a missing gas cap always freaks me out.

Did someone steal gas? Not that big of a deal.
Did someone throw sugar or sand down there? Now that's a big deal.
How long was it missing? Did it get water in the tank.?

This is great to hear. We can't attach photos on this. But I would love to send you a photo of the gas filler neck to see if yours could work. My email address is [email protected]

Can you please email me, so I can send you photos. This has been more challenging to find a replacement than it should be.

Appreciate it!
Peter
