Thx I did see this these. I know what they sold for when new thru Land & Sea so IMO I think the seller is asking to much for a used set. I will check with L&S and see if they can direct me. Also found one almost still brand new at a prop shop totally complete as a display model for 750 bucks. The only thing missing was the box. Already bought that one.

Too bad you didn't need one for an alpha. I have one collecting dust and I'm too lazy to put up an ad. LOL.

Good luck in your search.

Are they the same thing as a stand off box?

Stern jack raises drive height with trim thus acting similar to an outboard jack plate in addition to adding set-back. I wonder why they stopped making them.

No. It's a spacer of sorts that mounts between helmet and drive. Too lazy to go measure mine (in garage) but it's approx 8"-10" long.

If these things are so great... Why is everyone not using them?

Back when L&S first came out with it they had a retail price of $ 995 for the bravo and I think a $ 795 for the Alpha. The price increased every year as I think it topped out around $ 1795 or $ 1995 and $ 1595 or $ 1795 for the Alpha retail.

Mercruiser put out info to its dealers and Techs taking their classes about not to install them. I would have to look up that info about what they said at that timeframe as to why. I forgot what the story was.

It seemed after that sales for Land & Sea dropped quickly plus a lot of people did not the like the looks of them hanging off their azz end of the boat. Also installing them added more cost to the end user in which started to get pricey. At that timeframe L&S was more well know for their outboard related stuff. Today their business is just dyno's for most apps.
