Why not a nice pair of 188 square port with all good stuff?

Good question simple awnser
1. Not enough motor to support them
2. Don't want to replace the new intake manifold i just bought
3. This is a 1-2 season motor i need to replace alpha with bravo drive before adding large power

U can use oval port manifold on rec. Heads will work fine. As far as enough engine u should be fine. I would def. Go with rec port there is no reason not to

Thanks to all i just bought a clean set of 781's for $250 i want a small chamber to help compression, or lack thereof. Off to the machine shop for larger valves and a shave. Now 2.18 or 2.25?

It all depends on cam, intake and carb. Don't go too big or you'll lose velocity and chamber fill.
