L29 cam is 204/209 @ .050 .480/.483 lift
454/502 Mag Cam, is 225/225 .480/.480
They used the L29 Cam in the 454 GEN 6 vortec engines, Gen 6 mercury 310HP MPI engines, and the 502HT towing crate engine from GM. The 502HT, used oval port heads, the L29 Cam, and made 515FT lbs at 2800RPM. Peak HP was 320 at 4400RPM. It was designed to be a stump puller RV engine.

The gen 6 Vortec cam is indeed not the same . But I have had l29 cams and mag cams next to each other ,without running the last 4 off the back to verify , I would have a 50% chance of giving you the wrong gen 6 BBC cam .some reason I'm drawn to this on a sat nite when the cams are on the shelf at nite . Gen 6 Vortec 454, my experience is just buy it from scoggins for the 240$ cause no one is gonna have that one . The other one ,mag cam ,man its out there for ya ,clean ,and trading for cheap .if I don't have it ,ill get your # for ya ,and post them up here for gen 6 mag cam .gm sends them in tube ,tags get dirty shop floppers flip flop parts ect but laser etched # on actual cam are for ever .

I've been tempted to put the mag cam in l29 , little more aggressive non emmissions crate motor grind ,but always just sucked it up and bought a new one .never found any info .not a big deal but was curious if the truck efi system would.be happy with it
