I was looking at the same fab for the bennetts, fuel pump bracket good idea was looking for split ring mount.
Regarding the math on the indicator can you request different cable throw is there an adjustment? How did you compensate for the throw?
Also Hardin sells a kit for $85 a ram.

Here is a pic on EBay of one, looks homemade and like a throttle cable clamp for the cable sheathing and throttle swivel for cable end. This one is just not clean enough but good concept for fab.

its geometry... figure out the extended and collapsed length of the trim cylinder... Without going into a bunch of math and angles take the travel of the ram and see how close it is to the travel of the cable..it should be close... If the ram has more travel than the cable, rotate the mount on the ram towards the transom. If the cable has more travel rotate the mount away from the transom. If you fiddle with it for an hour or two you will find the sweet spot.

You can always graphthe whole thing out on paper and use numbers too.

A pic of yours would be great (cannot see the one you posted no access privilege) I got the jest of it now trying to visualize the darn thing. I was going to start a thread on on who built one.
Question, do all the indicators use 33C cable ends? I have a set of the '87 vintage cables that have like a clevis pin hole on the helm side. Can I get indicators for these?

just go with the 33c's the ends are readily avail however you want them, the cables themselves are reasonable and replaceable and the thru hull seals are readily avail.

For indicators I used TrimSticks and Im more than happy with them, plus the setup was half the price of anything from CP, Hardin etc....
