Looking for buildable 496 block. No corrosion/rust no welding. Anyone have one hiding in the shop i am getting desperate!

You mean a 496/8.1?

Check Craigslist for a 496/8.1 truck block. The only thing different is the bellhousing bolts are a different thread - they are not metric. Otherwise, its the same.

Just thought of something else. You can also get them from DART.

I have one from a truck if you are interersted, but you would need to have it shipped from NH.

Matt i would be very interested as long as it is not rusty. I sold one to a customer and it was beyond rusty on the engine mount bosses. If you could send me a pic of the block i can arrange shipping and get you paid.
