I am wanting to convert my 10 rib setup to a 16 rib for my 600sc . Currently running stock pulleys but looking to boost up from 5 to 7 psi. Let me know what you have for sale . Thanks Jeff

You can buy a 3 groove pulley for the vee belts, and a 16 rib bottom pulley.
Remove stock bottom pulley that has vee groove and 10 rib as one unit. Bolt on 3v pulley, then bolt on a 16 rib pulley. Still keep the 10 rib belt. Works great. You can get the 16 rib pulleys from teague, or from Holley/weiand. I might have a 16 rib pulley I'd sell ya. I have a 5.400 inch, and a 5.625 inch.
The 5.4, would put you at about 8% overdrive using the stock top pulley. (stock is 7% underdrive). The 5.4 pulley I have, has dyno time only on it.

Here's a pic of the setup, with another top pulley on the bottom. 1:1 ratio. That might get you close to the 2psi gain in boost. I might have an extra top pulley, I'd have to look.
This is the vee groove pulley you'd need

What about a tensioner. I have thrown the 10 rib several times and was thinking a 16 rib would be better. My engine is in the shop getting new h beams, flatops (509), promaxx317 s, new erson hyd roller and a new set of lightnings. Wanted to upgrade and boost up a couple. I appreciate all your help MT. Let me know what you want for your goodies. Thanks Jeff
P.S. for some reason I cant open the attachment. [email protected] if you could send me any pics would be great.

The stock tensioners, are hard to find. Originally, they were off a Corvette, and merc painted them blue and charged 5 times what they costed at the chevy dealer. They are drying up. Next winter, I may switch to a better setup. One that uses a tensioner that swings the opposite way, and maybe add an idler pulley. Something more like the 700sci and whipple setups use.

Also, with the new heads and cam, you're boost level is probably gonna drop down from where it was.
The 16 rib tensioner setup, is hard to find for our blowers. I don't believe the stock merc 600sc is drilled and tapped for them either? Not that it cant be done. And the belt options are limited, and pricey. I get the 10 rib gates belts for under 20 bucks, even cheaper sometimes. I bought several and went with the ones that gave the best fit.

Thanks for the great info. I remember you talking about the cheaper belts working out well. Ibmist be throwingbthe belt due to running a crossover and the altered mounting point where the ciculation pump was. Is there anyway you could text me a pics of your setup. 810 875 8483
