is your 502 stock?
I always felt i should have installed the next one bigger than the 741.
i felt i had left some HP on the table.

its a 509 with 9.5:1 compression or so, ported 088 heads with a 2.25 exhaust valve and cmi etops

I’d agree on the 741 with 9.5:1 and iron heads you can afford to bleed off some cylinder pressure.

I looked for months for a 741 cam but they are the most popular cam out there. I finally bought the Comp Cams version 525EFI clone new for $400. Good Luck!

i had a 731 in my motor once, 5400 it would fall on it's face, put the 741 in and would run it up to 6000 with no problem. 509 with a 420 mega-blower. healthy idle, good around the docks. now I put a 540 in with the blower and a Teague stage 4 cam and you have to work the throttle alittle around the dock but I like the way it runs and sounds.
