It’s early but looking increasing likely will new new mills since one of my current engines has developed a problem right before pulling out for the season. Will know for sure over the next few weeks when the engine guy gives the final verdict.
Putting out early feelers to see what might be available instead of rebuilding…would be replacing two 525hp 454’s in an 88 Formula 272. Like to pickup a few MPH over the 72 can get today.
While HP matters, looking for some torque monsters, NA, reliable BBC engines. Nothing exotic. Don’t want to spend hours wrenching on a regular basis.
Expect to be able to reuse current accessories and stainless marine exhaust. So flexible if dressed or just complete long blocks
If can find the right engines, will then rebuild/store current engines as spares or sell them eventually.
