Something like that yes.
Mine has one outlet breather on top but I think that style would also work

This is on the first motor I have

Yes, that’s the one I have. It’s in great condition….With tank brackets and braided lines. 250.00 shipped.

Is that Coast Guard approved to have an open vent in the engine compartment? I bought a couple tanks for my boat but I removed the vent portion and connected a hose back to the carbs.

I dont see why they would not allow this....This tank is an overflow tank for engine oil. the hoses connect to your valve covers and catch the extra blow by oil that sometimes comes out of your valve cover breathers. It's not for gasoline.
