Just picked up a 2007 27 World Class with a 496 HO. I am looking for some tips on engine upgrades that any of you have done (or heard of) for a 496 HO.
She currently does 70 flat with 1/4 tank of gas and one passenger.
70 is more then enough for any lake... BUT, i would like to be able to hit 65 with 6 - 8 passengers as well.
Thanks in advance!

depends on how much money you want to spend, about the cheapest would be labbing the prop, or you could install a set of CMI's (exhaust) about 3500$, more than likely the exhaust would give you about 3 mph, not sure if the new HO's have them or not but i removed my turbonaters from my exhaust risers and it helped for about 100 rpms for no money out of pocket, also get in touch with "Raylar" they are on this site they have kits for the 496 that can push 625hp.

mwdill, I figured I'd mention the turbulators function is to help keep the moisture that collects in the exhaust from dripping down and getting drawn back and hitting exhaust valves. Exhaust valves don't like getting wet. FYI

Warlock sells all of their boats through these guys:
http://www.inlandautoandboat.com/index.html
I bought a 27 there... I LOVE my Warlock but have been extremely unsatisfied with the dealership.
Unfortunatley, they are THE option when buying a new Warlock.
I also found this on the web... (this guy is not me by the way)
