I was wondering if anyone has owned or has been on a 2004 29 warlock world class. Im looking at one and have no idea about the handling either offshore or in the bay , what kind of speed to expect with a 500 to 600 hp BBC and any kind of problems that they have . Thanks, Chris

We have a 2000 29 World Class that we have had for 9 years. It was built as a pleasure/race model so it was a little heavier setup and it has a cabin and all that good stuff. We have a Mercury 500 EFI in it right now and Ive seen 77mph on a perfect day, no fuel 2 people in the boat, any normal day 72-74 mph. It loves a 2-3 foot chop, and still handles great in the rough water. On lakes we see a problem with porposiing above 65 but being from Florida we dont run in the flat lake water very often. If you need any other info just let me know. Im sure theres more people on here that know more than I do but this is my experience with the boat.

Thanks for the feedback. As of now the boat is here on long Island . It has a carb BBc with Brodix Heads a dart single plane hi rise intake a nice cam but as far as a hp number I have no clue . The other thing is it has a six blade prop for some reason? I will give updates when I learn more about the boat. Thanks again, Chris

2FastWarlock is dead on with his description. We still have our 29. With 600 HP You can expect 78-80 in flat water. If you find some small chop, you'll get close to 83. If you have closer to 500 HP subtract 4-5 MPH. The boat loves 2-4 footers. The hull is built solid. You should have hydraulic steering and K-Planes on this boat. Use these to adjust for any water conditions. My thinking is the 6 blade prop was an attempt for more speed or a harder hookup to get on plane. Nothing wrong with a 6 blade. We've run 4, 5, and 6 blades. The 5 blade Herring gave us the best speed increase and made the boat run straight as an arrow. They're just expensive.
The boat has a nice low profile for a 29 footer. The design is classic yet never seems to get old. You can sit under the deck, but the truth is there is little head room. Its fine for getting out of the sun for a while. If the boat is a pleasure build, it has plenty of room between the back and front seats.

I had a '99 29' World Class (pleasure) with an HP500 - great boat. It handled rough water very well, flew level and felt pretty solid. The fastest I had it running (by myself with low fuel) was 79 mph on gps. Normally, it would run 76-77 mph with two people and half a tank.
The only problems I had were a small piece of fiber glass securing the forward bow bulkhead came loose (Warlock paid for a local repair) and the gauge panel's paint started peeling (Warlock sent a new panel).
One thing missing on mine was full hydraulic steering, Warlock only fitted half steering (no hydraulic helm). Half steering just doesn't feel as good or work as well. Full hydraulic should have been standard on an HP500 boat. I'm not sure how they equipped later models.
