I had a buddy contact me the other day about a late '80s team warlock with a single BBC. I guess this thing is a custom built from the factory kind of ride. Are these sought after boats?? The only one I can really find is for sale for $55k?? Sounds crazy for a boat that old and of that size. Somebody educate me on these bad boys.

Not many Warlock fans on this site- you might try performance boats.com .. Mostly cats and smaller V boats there...but I'm not there a lot.

A 2000 29' with big block median retail is about 26K according to NADA link above.
A pic of my 28' can be found in this thread http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/g...-all-time.html

I mistyped, its a late 80's not 90's. Looks exactly like yours but the color scheme is reversed. Mostly white intead of red.
I'll inquire over at PB. I spend too much time on that site too.
Love that ad by the way. Any current pics of the boat?

Hey Bill...got your PM...
The hulls were raced extensively on the West Coast in late 80's thru about 2005 when the POPBRA scene died. There were 2 or 3 that were active as well as Vila's 23'. Most of the race hulls were the new deck 29' with a single engine. Later hulls had stepped bottoms from memory.
They are a blast to drive- cornering well and handling the rivers/Sacramento well.
Hull is a bit small for runs to the bay and ocean in the snot past Pittsburg and Pt Richmond..
Heres a few pics..of mine

With nose trimmed down a bit for a hard turn..they will hook up and turn amazingly hard...(Have to be careful you don't throw anyone out of the back) hull will run nicely on top of 2-3' chop. Performance of hull is forgiving according to others that have moved up to larger hulls.
Size is good for Delta...I would like a 33' Powerplay someday.. anything much bigger would be a hassle in my opinion..I still enjoy driving this one and since they aren't worth much anymore am in no hurry to sell it...

Seriously that's one of the coolest pics I've seen (that didn't have a hot girl in it). I'd frame that sucker and put in on the wall. I had 30' Scarab and it was the perfect size for around here. You can get into the docks at all the restaurants without too much trouble and it handled the slop on Fourth of July at Mandeville with ease. Shoulda kept it.
