I currently own a 92 sunsation 25' w/ a fresh (22 hours) 460 horse 454 mag that does 75 all day long, my family is growing and i'm tired of getting the hell beat out of me going fast, i am looking into a 29 warlock,or a 288 sunsation, i want to go 80 mph what kind of power do i have to have in that boat to go that fast, i was hoping to find a late 90's early 00 for under $50k is that possible , and also sunsation's customer service is awesome what should i expect from warlock if i jump ship?

Your thinking of buying a 4 or 5 year old 29 Warlock for $50k. I'm not sure you would get any customer service out of Warlock. The boat is out of warranty. If you need glass work, there are plenty of glass shops to fix your boat. If you need mechanical work, there are great boat shops to repair mechanical problems. There's nothing special that would require Warlock to be a sole source for a repair.
As far as power, you'll need at least a 525 to do 80 in a 29.

Thanks Flashwave, as far a s cusomer service i ment questions on the boat to be answered, parts readily available to be shiped etc. my sunsation is a 92 i am the third owner , i can call up sunsation and talk to joe 1 of the owners and can pick his brain as far as anything on the boat is concerened , and he will help be to the best of his knowledge ,i do know the 29 world class is an awesome hull, and that why i'm interested init, i heard from a few local warlock owners that carter isn't that way, i still may pursue 1, i have an awesome mechanic who wrencehes on alota boats on this site, Porters Pipedream Racing Phantom and does alota sub work for a local fountain dealer.

Hey trimman,
I never had a problem talking to Carter. Wouldn't expect that to be a problem at all. As far as parts, I would look to your local boat shop or mail order house for gauges, pumps, and such. The 29 Worldclass is an awesome boat. In the pleasure configuration there is a lot of room in the seating area. Nice when you have friends and family. I have never heard anyone say they've had any problems with the hull including the racers. If your handy, its pretty easy to maintain, store and tow.
You can drop the tabs a tiny bit and stay right those guys claiming they run 100+. Thing is in this boat you can do it until you run out of gas. I havn't met many who will run their boats 100+ for very long.

called Carter to talk to him about my 27 that i bought used, took time out to answer my questions and to talk about the setup and prop on the boat ,was very helpfull and nice to talk with, said anytime i had questions to not hesitate to call.
my 27 with an HO runs 72 , so one with a 525 would top 80, seen a couple of 29's with no cabins run 80 plus with an HP 500.

Thanks guys , i appreciate the info, its nice to know carter is like that the guys i talked to seemd sorta bitter towards warlock. warlocking i need to sell mine first before i can do anything. if i pulled my motor and threw a whipple ,or procharger on i would be at around 600 ponies that would get me where i am looking speed wise, i found a 00 29 in va. for $60k pretty boat.
