SteveS 08-31-2002 02:57 PM

Sweet lookin' ride.

I've seen 81+(GPS) out of my 27WC F1 race layup.

Warlock 27 08-31-2002 04:45 PM

Thanks Steve,,didnt you have the 27 that Lance and Jimmy ran?

SteveS 08-31-2002 06:29 PM

Yep! Same one thay got the 2000 National Championship with.

Warlock 27 08-31-2002 07:32 PM

Coooooool..I raced with you ..F1-86 Purple Haze..

Retired..or just given it a break..I remember when Brian Hollis and BC had that boat..its a good one..

SteveS 09-01-2002 09:21 AM

Taking a break! We are trying to get our biz going, then well get back into it. Just been having fun this year hitting the local lakes and Poker Runs.

speedbump 09-03-2002 11:14 AM

Hpron - looks great! What's the deliver date at this point?

Warlock 27 09-03-2002 06:15 PM

Hi Speedbump..we made a few changes late last week.

HOPE TO FIND OUT TOMORROW..:D

We are anxious......

Keep us updated on the next run..any idea when.??

RedWarlock 09-05-2002 06:21 AM

What did Carter say???

When's the new arrival gonna get here, and what changes were made?

Offshore Addiction 09-05-2002 11:41 AM

hey ron,get everything up front before the boat gets funded!!!!!still cant even register mine.....maybe I'll be able to in the 3'rd year of ownership???????

Warlock 27 09-06-2002 05:14 PM

Thanks ..got it all legal..required paperwork stuff that is..haha.

It really is a whole different company..very smooth to date..even on time after all my changes..I really believe it was you know who that made things messy..

Are ya going to the worlds..??:D

Offshore Addiction 09-07-2002 07:42 AM

glad to see there doing better, but they gave BC a really hard time, and I know who you know whos partner was,and I know who sighned my contracts, and I know who hasn't taken care of it yet.....and I know who the new owner is,and I know who the problem is,just cant beleive with all the press I got these boats this year that the new owner hasn't stepped up to the plate,I've been very patient with this situation, but there starting to piss me off.....NOT GOOD.....

Warlock 27 09-07-2002 12:05 PM

Al..sorry to hear about your troubles..all I can say is that I never ran into any problems from past ownership on the other two I bought..

I can say that its a whole different ballgame /company this go around..very upfront and professional

I am sure they aren't in any better shape then any of the other boat builders out there as far as full /partial sponsorship..hell look at what just happened to Randy with Typhoon...thats TOUGH..!

why dont you try and resolve this with a phone call to Carter..he cant be responsible for all the broken promises that came from the past major party concerned..

Hope it works out for you....hope to see ya at a few races next season..wont be F1-..but something..

Good racing and be safe for the upcoming events..

We have a sister office in Tampa/Clearwater...I saw your post from beer can island..looked pretty cool....stay in touch..Ron:cool:

Offshore Addiction 09-09-2002 06:30 AM

have had to take another route with carter, the guy wont even pick up the phone when I call.....trust me I've tried.......glad to see your back at it....what company is it you work for?.....what class do you plan on trying to run?

Warlock 27 09-09-2002 05:22 PM

Hey Al..I work for a engineering firm called Canterbury Eng..our sister company is called Genca..they are in Clearwater..

Have not really gone that far with the racing thing..we have time..thinking on P class..I want to be able to enjoy family time.wife,son..too much time required for full F1..maybe a few a year ...I do miss the great sites, and the many people I have met that share the same love for the sport and boating in general.

I was going to call Joey again and see if he was going to New Orleans,,,did speak with him not to long ago and he seemed to be having fun..

Hey Hpron, I seen your boat yesterday, went there to look at a 27 and 29.. I also posted the question on hotboat. about being able to take the 27 in the big water... so I guess I can.. Will the 27 ride rougher than the 29, I know it is shorter but will more freeboard help the 27.. probally a stupid question.. but I'm learning and learning.. about the new project.. thanks:p

THEJOKER 09-12-2002 10:03 PM

Riverdude:

The 27 will ride rougher than the 29. The 27 has more freeboard and has a ton more room in the cabin. The 29 is a great big water boat but with little cabin headroom. The 27 is also terrible in a gusty wind - 29 is more sleek and aerodynamic. I've owned 5- 27's and 1- 29. Brian Hollis

Riverdude..

I too have owned both the 29ft and 27ft...Hollis makes a few good points..he is basing his opinion on his experience and same for me...however its a matter of preference..and creature comforts.

They are both good 'big" water boats..great rough riding..thats my opinion..\.02..

Like any boat its up to the set up and driver, after all look what two pro's Lance and Jim Arvis were able to accomplish with it.Far more then me in a 29 ft. or any other factory racer in a 27 ft that I am aware of...I had recently spent time off the coast..{east} in the Atlantic in a 27 ft and ran it hard under same conditions that I used to run my 29 F1-86 Purple Haze boat in, and felt more then comfortable in it......so much so I built another and went with 27ft.because of cabin, freeboard etc..

It fits well for the family..felt much more comfortable with the high sides for when riding with my younger son..

Good luck...feel free to contact me directly with any other questions regarding service,quality,performance..etc..:D :D

riverdude 09-13-2002 07:48 PM

Hey brian.. you said it will ride rougher, but you owned 5 of them , you must have liked them.. How much rougher, because the 29 that i rode in was a 90 no step.. does that make a differnce.. thanks for the response. you guys...

THEJOKER 09-13-2002 08:06 PM

River-

The 27 is as good as it get's in it's class, it just does not ride as good as the 29. Keep in mind though I own a 2002 Cigarette 38 Top Gun and it runs almost 90 mph in anything(weighs 13,000 LBS- Size matters in any boat). The boat Ron is talking about is my old 1999 27 Warlock F1-96. I won a Championship in it in 1999 and The APBA Rookie of The Year. I also was a Warlock dealer and know a great deal about the boats. The step does make a difference..sent you a reply to your e-mail.

Good luck in your choice..in either case I believe you will have fun and enjoy the Warlock...

DanB 09-14-2002 06:29 PM

I prefer the 27
When I lived in CA we spent alot of overnites and the cabin is lots bigger. Plus I like the extra freeboard..keeps you dry in snotty water and keeps the kids from falling out. Ive ridden in 29's and never saw any difference under normal conditions, plus with equal power I think the 27 is faster.
BTW mines for sale :)

Dan

THEJOKER 09-15-2002 10:50 AM

DanB:

You're definitely right on the freeboard and dry ride. The 27 will run in some snotty stuff( better have a good driver), I have some awesome onboard camera tapes from West Palm 1999 - Toronto , Sarasota etc that would show what the 27 was capable of. I did alot of research and took several trips to California before I invested in Warlock, I know alot about the product. I came up with the "Red Apache Graphics" , that everybody seems to love. Any Warlock questions feel free to ask - brian

bob 09-15-2002 10:10 PM

I am looking at stepping down from a 39' boat with a couple class1's to a fast 30' single engine type boat. I would like the boat to be a fairly safe ride and be able to run 85+ with somewhat controlable/predictable ride. I spend a fair amount of time in 2-4 ' chop. Cabin is not important. Would Warlock be worth a look?

THEJOKER 09-15-2002 11:01 PM

Bob:

I would suggest the 29 Warlock with atleast a 575 Merc. The 575's are pricey so you may want to go to a custom engine builder. I would stay away from the aftermarket pro chargers, etc. A good 540 cu inch with atleast 600 hp will get you there depending on your lay up schedule ( cabin interior optional, etc?).....Just my opinion - I can show you how to spec out the boat and save you $$$$$$.

The Warlock would be worth a look.

I suggest you contact Arvis Marine..he is up in your neck of the woods..Va.area..speak with Jimmy....he has already tried bigger power in the 29 and 27..get the results first hand..

First hand knowlegge and experience is the key to the best results......he has tried this in my old 29 already..

Good luck.....Ron

Offshore Addiction 09-16-2002 07:16 AM

how about a 29 race layup, with a 635 hp super v lite motor, might be able to hook you right up with one,got the boat and the motor ,boats never been titled, motors got about 6 hrs on it,ready to run......

THEJOKER 09-16-2002 10:51 AM

Ron:

When will you be getting the new boat? Did you buy it from Atlanta Marine? Can't wait to see it on the lake - I just finished rigging my old F1 Boat - the Prototype - it ran 75.6 mph on a 26 - 4 blade Bravo - banging the rev limiter(CRE 500 EFI). Can't wait to try the 28 prop this week. Brian

Warlock 27 09-16-2002 05:33 PM

Helllooooooo Mr Brian

Hey Brian,

Hope it will arrive here near the end of the week..thursday late.

No ..I didnt buy from Atl..I have been working with Carter direct on layup and design of this one..he really came thru..did some trick stuff on layup from all the things we all have learned.

Went pretty smooth...

Red Warlock needs to get hooked up..prop..steering..etc..I need a cover for outside..nothing fancy..got some for sale..how much??28-30 would do fine..even if ya got one that is semi-used

I saw you had the Prototypes up for sale..sounds like a 28 may work..going to try a Halls labbed ??

Good to hear from you...hope things are going well..

Got Val involved..note LSU colors..hell maybe we will get some Alumnini sponsorship..ha ha..not good in "bulldog " country..

We got married this past Feb 14..I now have a son almost 6 who is growing like a weed..right now he's pissed were getting rid of the cat..the little sucker loves the speed..

Warlock 27 09-17-2002 04:41 AM

Al..question

Hey Al..what do you think you would get speed wise..I'm thinking 85-87 at best..would you have to change x??

Offshore Addiction 09-17-2002 11:30 AM

with the big motor,90 plus.......already runs 83 with no weights
