CDA is nice but I’m partial to Pend o reille mostly because of the scenery and I really like the option to run in the river or the lake.
Also told by a friend that our type of boat are no longer welcome on the Spokane river |
Lake Pend o reille is much less populated and wider than CDA. We’ll probably ruffle a few feathers but if everyone stays cool in the river we should be fine. Lot of open water once you get past the trestles at long bridge and then things really open up when you head south from Hope. There are a few people up there that think you don’t belong unless you wanna live like Jeremiah Johnson but their getting steamrollered by WA and CA.

And CDA doesn't have those mountains dropping straight into the water like between The Clark Fork and Lakeview.

When I ran my little Warlock on Pend O'Reille, I was the only muscle/offshore boat out there. That wasn't as fun.
but I am very happy to learn things are changing. |

Wow, Great thread.
This year's event is not in the cards for me, but I found enough interesting posts about Idaho that I wanted to jump on. Grew up in Spokane and spent most of my summers on the big 3 lakes. Now, after being a life long resident of WA, I am chomping at the bit to move to Idaho. Yes, along with everyone else, I am guessing for the same reasons. Mind If I jump on about real estate or should I start a separate thread? Tho I live on Puget Sound, I boat less than I did when I was spending every weekend on Lake Couer D' Alene in my 24' Warlock (yes, powered by Ford). Being able to be on either of the big 2 lakes is my goal. In the 90's, my muffled but still loud boat wasn't so welcome on Pend O'Reille but CD'A was ok. Sounds like Pend O'Reille has gotten better. I am excited to see other performance boaters now boating there. There is always strength in numbers. Just starting my serious look as I may have just sold my business. Advice? Is CD'A still the preferred Hot boat lake? I suppose I can trailer to Roosevelt, but prefer not to. Start a new thread? . https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...a8e14e9b84.jpg Nice to see you posting. Glad still looks great! There's another guy on Pend orielle that has a gladiator. I believe he too lives in Washington full time. Keeps the Glad on a hoist across and around the corner from Hope, near the islands. He was gettin' BUSY across the lake last time we were there. Looked and sounded awesome. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...4bcca510a2.png |
Thanks Tank!
I love my Gladiator. I would part with every other toy first if I had to. What color is the other Gladiator? Reason I ask is I saw the one with yellow base color and shattered blue glass graphics at a local Costco gas station about 2 summers ago. You don't run into Gladiators everywhere. I would love to be directly across the lake from him but properties I can afford don't come up often. |

I have the Glad in Hope. Run it there full time all summer
