If this isn't the place for a new member intro please move it , I just thought since it was the WKYPA area it might be alright!
Quick intro here since I just moved up near Paducah from Atlanta. Life has thrown me a curve ball so I decided to move back up to KY. Currently I am without my lake toy (because of the curve ball) it was a Checkmate Convincer but since moving back up to KY I have come to realize there is one heck of a powerboat scene from what i saw on KY Lake earlier this year. Might do some river running if there is much of it around her I use to do it over in Huntsville on the Tennessee there!
Anyway just wanted to say Hi and in the mean time I am going to see if I can sort out the who's what's and where's of what is going on up here and see if I can start figuring out where the places to shop (boat related gear) are and who the people to know are.
I am having to start from scratch again so if anyone is willing to post/PM some pointers or has good info on possible inexpensive project boats (wanting to possibly upgrade in the process from what I had) I am all ears because I just got scooped on a 29' Fountain Fever for one heck of a deal and a 25' Skater.
Mechanics, riggers and all the related are relevant because I have no boating contacts up here ... none, zero, nada!! Winter is coming and I need a project to get started and finished before the good weather hits agin. BTW if there is anything coming up as far as goings-on at the lake of interest I would appreciate a heads-up, I have been off the water all year and am totally missing the water it doesn't help that I am unfamiliar with the lakes up here .... other than where they are. ;-) So any advice whether on the lake bars, restaurants, hull lengths because of worse case Lake conditions or whatever everything would be appreciated. Hope to catch some of you around soon!

Carey, you don't what you are opening yourself up to with that statement, in all seriousness though thanks my boating contacts in Atlanta are of no use to me up here so I may take you up on that offer some time. Now if you know of any good projects let me know because I will be in your neck of the woods in two weeks and might need to stiop by just to check the inventory out, one can always look for the next perfect boat right?
