So, is the official date June 2nd for the run? Will everyone be staying in one place? The Moors was mentioned.

I know a group is staying on a houseboat at Kentucky Dam Marina and another group is staying at Moor's.

Yeah it's me. I ws down at Hickory this past weekend - road with RB and Fran. Had a good time judging by headache on Sunday. Come on up - but I doubt I can get the crew off Cumberland unless you nudge them a little bit also. I saw your new ride at EB's-very nice indeed!!!!!

I really wanted to make it out last weekend but I had too many honey-do's to get done. I know B's ride will scream. We are all heading down to Chattanooga May 11th-12th for a run at Hales Bar. I think Ed and maybe a few of his cronies are coming. You should make the trip! I think RB and his crew and I know I am going to Jacksonville the next weekend if you can make that run... The more the merrier!

I would be more than happy to give the cincy boys a nudge... I'm just glad the season is finally here. I just can't wait to get mine out again.. only been out a couple hours and hit a log dinging both skegs and both props.

From reading this thread looks like we may have quite a few. One more is always good. The more the merrier.

What's the schedule of events? Who is staying at Moors and how can I get a cabin and a slip at the dock?

gilltee2 04-23-2012 06:31 AM

We'll be down either late Thursday night (5/31) or early Friday morning (6/1), and staying at my dad's place back in King Creek Marina. Hopefully the weather gods treat us better this year.

The only event I know of is that folks are talking about meeting at the dam at 10 am on Saturday and making a run down to Fat Daddy's for lunch. Probably an informal get together at Moor's Saturday night. Friday afternoon in the Rock Quarry sounds like a plan, too!

Jim Diesel 04-23-2012 02:43 PM

Here is the info for moors http://www.moorsresort.com/
A lot of us have a place at moors or around moors so let us know if your coming and a meet up Friday afternoon sounds great.

Plowtownmissile 05-05-2012 07:18 AM

I'll be there Friday evening and we're staying at the Moors resort. Red/white Baja 292 with "Baja" in huge lettering on the side (yes, its factory graphics). Myself, wife, and a few other couples will be on my boat.

Jim Diesel 05-06-2012 08:28 PM

Come join us I will be on a lifted orange golf cart around moors, we will have to have a cool one !

Sounds good :drink:

BTW, is this a "dry" county/area? Just want to know if I need to fill the coolers before we get there or not.

Yep it's a dry county. So stock up the closest place is Paducah and it's about 35 min away.

Maybe not for long:thankyouthankyou: Hopefully the Marshall County folks will pass the bill to make it wet. Although I have seen a lot of "I Vote Dry" signs on the way to the lake.

"I Vote Dry" signs - the only thing the Baptists and Bootleggers agree on!

gilltee2 05-14-2012 11:01 AM

Are the boat drags at Pisgah Bay this same weekend?

Plowtownmissile 05-19-2012 12:25 PM

Roll call

So who all is going? What kind of boat?

Wife and I are bringing our white/red Baja 292 along with 2 other couples that will be running with us in our boat.

Wife and I will be down early Friday morning. White with red and black Checkmate ZT260 "Checkered Passed".

bigredbaja 05-21-2012 10:13 AM

I will roll in Friday evening staying near KY Dam, my Sunsation 288 is white with Orange, purple & yellow named "She Said Yes"

slorider 05-22-2012 08:52 AM

I will be there for the run on Saturday. 33 Outlaw " Grass Money"

slorider 05-22-2012 09:28 AM

I called Moors Resort and was inquiring about a boat slip overnight and they told me they have no slips to accomadate a 33 ft long boat is that true or do I need to call back and talk to someone else besides the 16 yr girl answering the phone that sounded like it was her first day???

gofastlvr 05-22-2012 09:38 AM

call back... the slips are like 20-25' but you can back in and let the nose stck out. I kept my 42' lightning there one night a couple years ago and I know others did too.

Good point. Here's a related joke for you (I grew up Southern Baptist so I can tell it without regard to offending someone).

When you invite a Baptist to go fishing, always ask two, never just one.

When you take one, he'll drink all of your beer.

When you take two, they won't drink any!

253 05-22-2012 02:53 PM

We're in, will be in Friday evening

Call back I slip mine about every weekend and it's a 31, my friend has a 39 Rockit and it fits just fine.

snapmorgan 05-24-2012 10:30 AM

I would like to come along, but my boat will only run 70mph. Someone will have to save me a seat for lunch. Blue, gray and white Advantage. Not very many of them on KY Lake.

Only 70mph? Hell that's fast. I really doubt everyone will be running 65 plus.

bigredbaja 05-27-2012 07:57 PM

start time??

Looks like next Saturday is still the date is there an agreed time everyone is leaving and from where? Dam or the Moors?

10am at the dam.

As far as speed, I top out in the mid 50's so I'll probably be at a 35-40mph cruise. I'm propped for holeshot and cruise efficiency, not top end.

bigredbaja 05-28-2012 11:06 AM

Thanks, 10am from the dam, i assume everyone will gather out in front of the entrance to the marina. I cant run with the 70's crowd either hopefully there will be a pack in the 55-60 range. Should be a smooth ride leaving at 10.

snapmorgan 05-28-2012 11:31 PM

In front of the KY Dam Marina entrance sounds good.
