Jon I would reconsider removing the rail. I can't tell you how many times I have reached out to grab the rail to assist in docking the boat, especeally when it is windy. I happen to like the look of the rail in the cut mode as we have both done. I agree it looks alot cleaner but it is certainly more practical to have it around.
