House/starting Battery
I have an 88 baja 235 force, question is how do i determine which is my house battery from my starting battery. Thanks for any input. One of the batteries has quite a bit connected to it of which i'm presuming that would equate to being the house? I need to connect a power cable to run an amp and speakers. Thanks for your Help!

Re: House/starting Battery
each boat is diff butt when i rig for 12v sound with amps. i run sep. grounds to batts. switch output gets eng. harn. and acc. that need to be used when starting and running like blowers , hatch batt #2 gets sound syst. hooked direct to it throught a breaker close to #2 batt as you can than ran to amps when the eng are off i switch to batt #2 when starting i switch t0 #1 and when eng are warm i switch to the both setting on high end systems i never start the eng with the batt on both and the sound playing i do not want to spike the amp with low volt i also run 2 batts in parralel on house batt #2 depends on system

Re: House/starting Battery
On my Formula both batteries are wired to supply power to the entire boat.
But, I do have a cranking battery and a deep cycle. The cranking batt is just for starting. The other batt I use when anchored.
My battery switch has #1-#2-Both-Off positions. Batt #1 is for starting, #2 is the deep cycle (house) batt. I can use either batt for starting but it will damage the deep cycle if I continuously use it that way.
