Default T sat housing

Does anyone one have the proper adjustment procedure for the white ball and spring in the top water ports exiting the thermostat housing?

Never had to adjust them - clean the long ass bolt and put 'em in.

I think the screw has a shoulder to bottom the nut out on. No adjustment. Been awhile. Anyway, that setup is a checkvalve, not a flow control part. The springs just keep everything together, allowing the balls to push out when the stat is closed (bypass route) and to allow the balls to somewhat seal preventing hot water to reenter the motor.

edit, is this the 2 balls and spring assembly?

Yes, two balls shaft and springs. If you tighten nuts until bottomed out, will this cause resistance to bypass?

Refresh this thread. Does any one have any merc manuals that show this adjustment?
