Baja H2X, 2008 Fountoon Quad-Step-Tri-Toon Stripper Pole Edition
Battery switches from the factory?

I have a '98 H2X that is currently rigged with two batteries. I have the motor out for some maintenance (ie. new headers and serpentine kit) and while it is out I am upgrading and re-rigging a few things. One of the things that was brought to my attention when we were pulling the motor was that I do not have a battery switch anywhere on the boat.

I was just curious as to when/if Baja puts a battery switch in from the factory. Again, I am not sure if my boat came with a single battery originally or not, but being it has two batteries in it now I am going to add the switch. Just curious.

97' Baja 252
Well my 252 only came with a single. putting in the switch and second battery was the first thing I did to the boat. I think you can get 2 batteies as an option from Baja

Very strange.

I have owned three Baja's starting with a 1999 model and they all came with battery switches.

You definately need one.

Yeah, I got the new cable and switch coming yesterday. I just thought it was strange to not have at least a "off" switch from the factory, even with a single battery. The more I have been around performance boats, the more I thought about "why don't I have a switch" and then my mechanic could not believe it when he hopped into the engine compartment. In addition to the switch we are also going to re-rig some other items and hopefully clean up the wiring.

I will post some pics of the new headers, serpentine set up and battery box when we get it back in the boat.

Thanks
