Sorry late on my replies...been in cancun with the wife for our late anniversary. dlange I tried to reply to your pm but your box was full... Not sure what I'll do yet y'all...gotta either sell my 29 or trade it. Definately going to move up but if I'm gonna spend 100-110 k I'd spend a few more and buy an older Top Gun... But for the right money and being able to move up to a 33-35 OL I'd be interested. No bad intentions when I say this because i like the boat but yes the 36 is a battle wagon and an old 35 cig hull but other then that they take a ton of power to move and not what I'm really looking for. Figured more stuff would be on the market by now...

36 outlaw top end
My 2000 36 has stock 500 efi's and it will run around 74 to 75 max with a full tank and me and the wife.My 2006 35 ol had 496 h.o's and would run about 72 to 73 max under the same conditions.I think that's a respectable speed for a old tank.Hell of a good ride for sure. I'll post some pictures when I get the old tank put back together and see what you think Hossman.Good luck in your trading up.I owned a 2001 donzi 33 zx with 502's and it would run about 72 max. That sucker weighed 9000 lbs.Now that boat was built like a tank and solid as a rock when you hit the big waves.A T/S Gun would be nice and there's some bargains to be had for sure.Good luck in your search.

Thanks Hank and looking fwd to seeing the pix. Don't take what I said wrong or as a dig on 36's as I like the 36's just not the boat for me unless I came across that amazing deal like I got on my current 29. 90% of the 36's out there have HO's in them and like you said need a minimum of 500's in them to run. I ran a 36 with boxes and 525's (old 490 horse blower motors) for a year back in the older days that we tuned on...so on and so forth then several 33's after that and personally between the two I just liked the 33's better....great boat like I said but not my preference. Regarding 35 OL's I love the feedback from all as I said I was out of the biz by the time the issues crept up on them...guess it depends on at what price would you be willing to take a chance and were they "that bad"? I hear of 405 issues, some early 30 OL issues...but not much on 23/26 OL's or other liner boats.

What year Cigarette are you looking at? T/S or flat bottom? I would think the older cigarette's will be difficult to finance, I know it was a concern of yours with the 29. I would much rather have a newer 35 OL than an older cigarette..but that is my preference.

02-03's... Have seen some good deals but dont want to spend that much right now to move up which is why this 35 caught my eye and raised the question (as you know) but you are right with the finance issue which is also what is bothering me on the sale side of mine...if I hang on to the 29 much longer and try to sell it out right it will be past that 10 yr mark which when I bought banks wouldn't go back past. Still love the baja's though, they've been good to me...no they aren't the fastest but love the lines and layouts of the boats and the people I have met over the past 12-13 years who own them have been great.
