This is the slowest moving thread I have ever followed on OSO! I guess everyones bravo must be holding up so good they do not get excited about this new drive! Normally OSO is the first on the net to have news, and I have never been the first to post anything!

IMO

80% NEW drive NOT a scx with a 4" shorty

The comment about the HUGE gears makes me think those are new also!

Talk about the larger cone clutch, could be the same as the scx could be even stronger

Higher HP rating then the SCX!

Sounds like imco is on the right track lets hope the Price is affordable!

Maybe it is the economy or that bolting on a surface drive without a lot a R&D may not be a sure fire success?

The internal components are not
different than the SCX.

How do you know this?

Obviously the vertical shaft must be different?!

With a completely new lower case are you sure the internals are the same?

Completely new upper case, sure every part is the same?

We will find out soon when they release more info.

I agree this drive is a "sister version" and shares many parts but I do not believe its an original SCX with just a 4" shorty like "Most" people have been saying.

You are correct...the upper is the same internally as an SCX...but with a modified location of the cavitation plate to accommodate the larger diameter #6 props.

The lower uses the same gears as the SCX lower, but has a 2 inch shorter case and a 2" shorter vertical shaft....it also has the long skeg that is optional on the normal SCX lower.

This should be a great piece!

Chris,

You seem to have the inside scoop on this, any idea on price?
