Would be cool if X-Power offered a version that bolts on a #6 transom assembly

It does still use the bravo xr ujoint. The reason for this is so it can fit within the bravo transom assembly. We have never seen a joint failure under normal operation, unless the joint was exposed to water or ran out of grease. Hope this helps explain the drive.
