However at this point I do t think I really can do anything about it from who we bought it from. If confirmed it is a 89 model I will be giving the previous owner a call!!
I think if the previous owner jacked with the HIN # that is stamped into the hull on the transom, that you would have reason to go back against him/her/them..... Made an "8" into a "9".....it's call fraud! What's on the title?

The drives are Bravo1's. the last 4 numbers of the HID# are
A899 and from what I searched it means it was built on Janury 8th, 1999.
I called fountain and left a message. Hopefully they call back and hopefully it was a special order 99 modellike someone else mentioned was a option in 99.

Sorry , I have to wait for the wife to call so I can find out where she put it. Once she calls I will grab it and look at it if its not in the safety deposit box.

Also I looked the numbers on the hull very closely and nothing looks tampered with. All numbers and letters look identical in shape and size and font.

Post pic of the numbers, there's no way its a 99, is so, someone completely messed with it to make it look old, I doubt that, especially if ALL 99's had step in the hull, I don't know Fountains enough to know that part..

I posted a question in the fountain section asking about this situation and someone chimed in and said that the 1999 brochure had a special order option for no step in the hull. I hope this is what it is. I hope to get in contact with flu gain tomorrow and they can run the #'s and tell me for sure.

I bet it was a leftover 98 hull or someone special ordered a "non step" hull.
