I gather these are "wet" pipes, and not dry pipes?

Ahhh, got ya. In fact, now that I know the boat you are working on, I know the situation you're in. I have a friend with a 1989 311 that we did some engine work, new Revolution Marine exhaust, and so on. In fact, thanks to my friends boat, a prototype spacer was created by Revolution Marine, who now offers this spacer for just this specific application.

Gordo, I'm not sure if it will help, but I bought a set of pipes like yours and wanted to use them on a Bravo setup. I cut my pipes at angles twisted the cut pipe and rewelded them together at the correct angle. The water dumped into the exhaust at the at the first cut. This is before I polished them.

Payton,
Thanks, but I'd like to have true dry pipes all the way.
Besides, I don't know of anyone around here that is that good with a welder...

your pipe are longer ... alot longer .... my plan was to modify the silent thunder so it would look just like the new platforms on newer Formula's ...Straight thru hulls ....but we would have to lower the holes .. and either mods to the pipes or new ones ....so I decided to just gut the box for now and see how it works ...I can always do the other mods latr ...
