The GM gasket is a PERFECT match to the heads and intake. Using this gasket as a template, you will find that no grinding in needed. This is a "cnc port-matched" intake afterall.

[QUOTE=AIR TIME;2536698]FOR 200 to 250 IT WOULD BE MONEY WELL SPENT and have a pro do it right the 1st time. I plan on having DEAN do mine and also change my cam if I have any coin left over this summer. his engines are in some expensive boats you know like OUTERLIMITS. and he has always helped people on line here.

Ditto on that BIG Daddy , real cheap HP there and Dean is the man without all the B/S .... Dean got the Gear lube & the Mercury parts and you were dead on she fired right up..Thnx again Good luck BIG JIM

Do you happen to have a part number for this gasket? I guess I see that intake laying on the floor, is it for sale?

Anyway you take a picture with it on the intake?

I agree it would be worth the money. I think I would be better off doing the intake and work on the heads at the same time. I am kicking myself now

Default Port Matching on a Stock Intake and Head setup

Is there anything to be gained on stock OEM Merc parts? I have 502 MPIs which will be coming apart for some upgrades and wonder if there is anything to be gained? It would seem if there were HP gains available that the intake and head castings would be adjusted over time to correct any misalignments in the ports??? Also when port matching, how far do you blend the opening? It seems that if the intake port on the head is not opened up all the way to the valve the gains would be minimal.
Thanks.
