55,000... if it did not have blower hatches I would ALMOST consider dealing with the arnesons....

Not to derail this discussion, but besides the "A", what is the main difference between the 3 and 3A?

3a has larger propshaft , larger vertical shaft, larger spur gears, most had straight cut gears which are stronger, and several other beefier parts. Dimension wise, they are the same.

Tim, that's the best way buy one done, if I do another boat it will have the drives I want

Edit: I was surprised @ MT picture that showed the #3 being just a bit shorter than the TRS

I love my boat so it would be hard to change in the near future, it would be cool to have 3's on this hull that rides gel rest and solid as a rock, then add some boost after this boat in the 80's would be a blast!

I have a plywood jig for a number III cut out if you need it. I am cutting my holes this weekend, so I won't need it after that. I also know where a complete donor boat is with 3A's, transmissions and motors for 5 grand. The will need to be gone through but that's cheap for all that hardware.

Does anyone have a picture of the inside of the engine room with just a transmission set in? I wanted to see some different ideas on installation.
Thanks,
