Default Helmet options

I'm in a full canopy boat but am considering going to a full face helmet. what is avaliable and what will still allow use of onboard air? what about a hans type device? by the way is anyone else using a full face helmet in a canopy boat? any thoughts and advice is appreciated.

Thanks all
Dave Sikorski

If memory serves me correctly you will not be allowed to use a full face helmet in a canopy boat. Reason being no way to get you air if you flip. Think about it and you will see the logic. How do you put a regulator in your mouth with a full face helmet???????

which is why i asked the question . . . to . . see . . . what . . .options . . . . there . . . were but yes you are correct there are definetly clearance issues with suplimental air and standard full face helmets.

we have had a canopy let go on us, stuffed at speed (it sucked) and after seeing LoanShark in St.Clair last year i am curious as to what is out there to increase protection.

I shouldn't be giving you guys any advice, but if we lost you guys I would have no one to volley insults with, . We have full face helmets with auto air and comunications. I purchased the helmets from Tiger performance, the are Peltor and are top knotch. we bought the entire system from them, but if you have air already you don't need all the tanks and stuff. They weren't the cheapest but they have been a pleasure to deal with and the equipment worked great when we tested it. The face masks don't chaf your face like the older ones did in rough water, and even though you two don't posess my movie star good looks, you still want to be comfortable. Well enough with the niceties, we tested today and we got nose bleeds from the acceleration, Woo hoo!!!

PS call me if you need there number, I dealt with Mark.

I'm not easily insulted! Yeah I made a call to Tiger Perf. for you guys already, they are making special helmets as we speak. They've installed what we like to call the remote ether option, just in case you guys get ahead of us, blink I push the button and it's sleepy time. On the serious side, we mounted remote pressure gauges since the ones on the tanks are not visible when seated. I got them from a local dive shop, they were like a 100 bucks, and you don't have to make holes in the dash, just hang them on the side in front of your shoulder. I need you guys to practice saying "thank you sir may I have another" Algonac is coming fast!!!
