When the oil gets hot enough, the cooler opens...

When the oil gets hot enough, the cooler opens and allows oil to flow through the cooling tubes. when the cooler is closed, all the oil circulates through the by pass.

They changed something. Sounds like a head gasket isn't sealing properly :eek: Did they torque the bolts properly? Why did they shave the head surface? IF there were no problems, there was no reson...

Doesn't matter one way or the other. Condensation occurs usualy after the engine is turned off and cooling down.

He needs to run them a little this summer, Pull the dipstick and oil fill after...

You are correct sir. Also if you have an oil cooler or power steering cooler leak, it will leave an oily residue on the water coming out of the pipes.
