i don,t think the op mentioned it but if the block was line honed on the loose side plus crank journals slightly smaller from polishing the clearance,s could be on the big side for a std volume...

i do agree that the merc oiling lines are too...

i do agree that the merc oiling lines are too small but that is what was on it before and he said it maintained 79 lbs oil pressure.not 80,only 79,lol.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^i have said it a hundred times,pressure is caused by resistance of flow,so yes,the larger oil line will be less restrictive to flow.i feel that mercury put to small of diameter oil...
