I am going to try a surface drive on this boat

It would be interesting to see how that would work on a single engine boat.

What gives one hull the ability to run a higher X dimension than another? Transom notches?

A notch in the transom and also if it has a pad on it an example is fountain they run very well with a high X dimension actually did the same thing years ago in the F1 when they started the class there was no X dimention and then had to implement an X dimension rule when certain boats werel running much faster

The smaller shaft boat was putting on a race in the big water at Point Pleasant in a much smaller boat. They may have won that day I don't remember. I believe I remember seeing it on the side of the road in the Key's when we drove down there.
I owned that boat. It was a 30 infinity with a pulse surface drive. I took off the surface drive to try a bravo. Huge mistake. Didn't like the bravo, with ext box or without regardless of engine height.

surface drve like the arneson bravo conversion, or is patching and re-cutting the transom a non issue, also not knowing how long the engine room is for room with a trans.

what kind of engine mounts are you planning on using
