I've got a few more before i hit it :p

Macklin 03-13-2007 05:57 PM

OK, here are the revisions. Couple of notes that apply to both. The bow graphic was changed to reflect more orange to yellow fade, but it will be brought out more towards the port side to match the oval. The orange fade will be made more prominent on the sides much like the bow now appears.

Pic 1 is pretty much our original sketch. Keep in mind this is a 2 dimensional rendering. In real life the purple will pop much better.

Pic 2 swaps out the green and purple although the artist forgot to change one stripe on the port side.

I'm really undecided here. I love the lime green accent, but not sure I want that much green on the boat. Help me out.

Sydwayz 03-13-2007 06:22 PM

Pic 1 on the left side is PERFECT.

ACTIVESHACK 03-13-2007 06:23 PM

I like the green alot. Rendering #2 has my vote. Active is hard to read in #2. I like it in the green like in the 1st rendering.

Brian, I'm leaning that way too. It just looks more masculine. I really like how the orange cuts into the blue near the transom on the port side though. That looks killer to me. Should I get that done on both sides regardless?

BTW, I am not sold on the bow logo either. Can only read it from one side. I think I may rather get it on both sides of the wind screen. And on the sun pad. But undecided again. :(

Gotta be quick though. We picked the blue last night (actually this morning in the sun) and the transom and dash are already getting paint!

I agree, 2 gets my vote. I think the green will pop better on the water. Plus IMO the purple highlights look better against the yellow background.

I guess it would be appropriate for me to comment :).

I agree with Mark and John's points - the green looks hot! The purple definitely looks better against the yellow vs the blue. Another thing to keep in mind is that the real thing will be amazing and will pop like you wouldn't believe when compared to the rendering. I just got the final pics of mine from paint today...look at the difference.

Mark - perhaps you can put up a pic of your rendering vs the final product?

In the end, go with your gut. With these 2 renderings, you will win either way!!!

crb76 03-13-2007 07:59 PM

I vote green (#2)!! It gives it life!!! Sorry Brian....

I like the SB and the Port side as is in the left drawing.

As for the logo on the deck, I like it too. Its kind of an "AT thing" to have it on the deck like that. James' says Thunder up there. Mine says Monsoon.

http://members.cox.net/activethunder37/photo.htm

However, my 'logo' idea on the deck was to have the oval logo worked into the graphic on the deck; like this (but better):

Sydwayz 03-13-2007 08:06 PM

I just realized I put my logo idea on the wrong rendering.

I do like the green, but it reminds me of the boat in Clark's avatar.

:D :D :D

excursion 03-13-2007 08:07 PM

I like the green in pic 2 along the bottom line of the boat will look good reflacting off the water. I like the AT on the deck, I would not worry about reading from both sides.

BillR 03-13-2007 08:24 PM

#2! Much better. #2 also makes the boat look leaner and longer.
Don't care for dark azz logo though.
I think the AT logo (as shown) on the white portion of bow would balance it and look bad azz. I don't care for swirled logo on bow. Way too many boats have the "swirl look" paint jobs - for example: like most Cigs from late '03 to '05. Time to create a distincitive look.

Overall tone of the boat (to me) is dark. Hard to tell from drawing, but nothing looks like it will "POP".

Bill, don't forget the rendering does not show the true color of the orange to yellow fade. THAT will make it pop!!

And I like the blue. The color we picked is a vibrant cobalt blue mettalic.

ACTIVESHACK 03-13-2007 08:41 PM

If you get your rendering to the point your happy than the boat usually turns out better. These renderings just dont do the end product justice. Pat was posting pics. frequently of mine but when i saw it in person i was blown away. Give the painter a little latitude to make subtle changes as he goes along.

Shawn, thanks for your input. Looks like your idea is garnering the most votes.

And your boat is smokin'.

You just had to throw that up here didn't you. :D

Yep, you absolutely can. :D :D Its only your boat.

My rudimentary rendering was literally 30 seconds in Powerpoint, but what I was getting at was something of an oval logo rather than print in the paint. I like the oval logo, and the way its wrapped into Rich's paint job was the idea I was going for.

BUT, no need to copy another design.

Every opportunity I get my friend :D - thanks for the compliment. Actually, I am overwhelmed with excitement..I have it up in about 4 places on here

In all honesty, it does make a big difference and as Mark says I am sure the real life view will far exceed the pics, let alone the rendering.

Like I said earlier, no matter what route you take, you will have a head turner!

HAHAHAH!!! There is only one of those!!! At least that is what I am told...

The Green is the fan favorite....I think it adds color to the boat... It would really look good with a white and blue accented interior…

cosmic12 03-13-2007 10:26 PM

#2 have you thought about the oval logo on each side inthe rear? The boat will look amazing eather way and like Mark said give'em some room to play as they go, Pat won't let it come out bad.

docmanrich37 03-14-2007 04:55 AM

Just my .02 cents which thats all I have left right now.lol Green should only come in 2 forms $ and sumthing you use a lawn mower to cut.The green against blue I don't like.I think the green catches your eye more than the blue and orange so IMO it takes away the main colors.Mack don't drive yourself crazy on this even though its hard not too.Hope to see paint on yours and mine soon and my settee cushion and table too. Thanks Pat.:D

Macklin 03-14-2007 06:43 AM

I know Rich....I'm so undecided.

Pat insists the purple will look great against the blue. It will be a pearlescent mettalic. The green will be just a flat ole lime green.

So, if Pat gets his way it will be Scheme 1. Maybe increase the size of the green stripes in that scheme.

Still need to decide how we want to do logos.

If you need 2 logos from the side of my boat I think Pat is taking them off this week so you can have mine but do you need the clearcoat with them cause if you do I can't help you:D

How about this thought.
Go w/ #1 but:
1- add more green
2- Light the purple up a shade or 2
3- Add some red highlites (or deep orange)
4- Do you dash kinda like the pic.
5- Add some details / highlights to that solid blue on deck
Look closely at the drawing - I added some details, changed the dash a bit, and lightend up some purple.
The portside on is plain (compared to stbd) and . . . .well, not attractive (MY opinion - and you know what they say about those) Portside needs something more to balance it w/ stbd.

AT guys - I know Macklin will appreciate some input here. So far the dash is all cobalt blue. We have lots of no wake zones. SO - do you think the blue dash combined with blue deck will be hot- esp on a typical 100% humidity 90 degree + day?
I think the blue dash will look wonderful-but be VERY hot. Plus your beverage of choice will be subject to getting warm - warm beer - yuk.

crb76 03-14-2007 08:13 AM

I wouldn't touch red...

camptappakeg69 03-14-2007 05:00 PM

I like #2 put with the active in the green color , tough choice though. Tough part will be picking out the green shade to compliment the cobalt blue metallic...But really like it against the other colors and don't see alot of boats with green:cool:

Heat, your sunny looks great!!!!!

ACTIVESHACK 03-14-2007 05:34 PM

Macklin I agree with BillR that the stbd. looks better than the port. The port side isn't full enough. The purple stripe on the port below the rub rail looks out of place because it doesn't flow into anything and add some green and orange(not red). His suggestions for the dash i couldn't agree with more:D . That dash pic. gives you a partial view of the sliding door also:cool: .

Macklin 03-14-2007 05:49 PM

I think it's too late for the sliding door. :(

I agree, the one purple stripe below the rub rail can go. And make the green stripes more prominent.

How about putting the AT oval logo on both sides at the rear? Or do this on both sides of the windscreen in appropriate color?

People we pass will want to know what kind of boat this is. They won't be able to see the bow logo.

My logo is on the rear and boat name on the bow deck.

ActiveThunder 03-14-2007 07:14 PM

Bill,

This is serious stuff and the suggestion about warm beer due to the dash color is inappropriate......

None the less the color of the dash around the drink holders will be a lighter yellow so Macklin's Pepsi doesn''t get too warm!:drink:
