There actually is a color called Thunder Purple Pearl.

Baja's traditionally have a slight bit more cockpit room, but they rob it from the cabin.

You won't find a deeper boat. You are IN the boat, not on it. VERY secure for little ones. The cabin is plenty spacious.

You can take the cabin from mild to wild, depending on what you want. You can have a custom drop in center cushion to go between the opposing couches for extra lounge area. The boat is designed with overnighting in mind. You can have hot water for the shower and AC if you like; porta-potti or pump out head. The girls can have a flatscreen TV/DVD; and it can be wired into the boat's stereo system if so chosen. Standard options include Livorsi premium gauges and billet controls, pop up cleats and more.

AT is a CUSTOM builder. If you want something different, all you have to do is ask. If you want the windscreen higher, the bolster 2" wider, whatever. Its all doable.

A 525EFI in a 28AT will run a solid 75mph, and then some depending on a lot of things. You could be out the door with a LIFETIME warranty on the hull and full 5 year extended warranty on 525EFI/XR for a very attractive price.

Default The 28 Savage

It is just an awsome boat!!! I will be very sad the day mine sells but I am going to a bigger boat...If you get a 28 you will not be disappointed in any aspect, it is a big boat for a 28. I get compliments on it every time I take it out.

You getting a 33 AT? Does the boat have any handling quirks, porpoise, blowout, etc? What does it run with the 525? Hrs on the XR drive?

Default Sent you a PM

Looking for 750HP--Whipple a 525EFI- that would fly.. No quirks handling and rides nice in the chop. I have little kids with me most of the time so I don't get to air it out very much. vic

Don't mean to hi-jack your thread, but I too am looking for a bit of info on the 28 Savage. I currently am running the 26ZX, & have pretty much decided to go a bit bigger. I thought I wanted something with twins, but have since rethought that. I'm looking at the 28-30 foot singles, & have narrowed my search down to the AT 28. I won't be looking to make a move until sometime next year, but I'm looking at how the Savage compares to my 26ZX. I have the 454 mag mpi, so I know right off the bat, it will be faster, but speed is not my #1 thing. I'm looking for safe, well mannered, reliable hull. I've seen where folks have refered to the Savage as a "big" 28, not sure what they mean by that. Where is the extra couple of feet? Is it in the cabin, or the seating area? My Donzi does seem a bit smaller, especially with 4 adults in it. I do like the Donzi, it is a great boat, & it is a very easy boat to work on, especially being that I do 90% of my own work. So, a couple of specific questions about the Savage.....1. How is the ride in rough water, say 3 foot (I usually won't go out any worse than that), the seas here on the Gulf are usually more of a "choppy sea" than rollers. So it's not tough to get beat. The Donzi does well, but it's not a comfortable ride at anything above 45mph. 2. Does it require constant driver feedback to control it? I'm getting more used to driving the Donzi, but it really requires alot of attention so to speak, & that certainly could just be my lack of time driving it, but it certainly doesn't seem to handle as well as my friends 25 Outlaw. 3. How accesible is the engine? The Donzi is configured very well, I can sit right next to it, & reach anything I may need to, plugs, starter, water pumps, everything is very easy to reach. Anyway....I'm just looking for a little input, & what year did the Savage change to how it looks now? I am considering a trip South FL to look a new, but that will be later on.....Thanks in advance for any & all info....

[QUOTE=Sydwayz;2194513]Rick,

I have run next to boatfreak28 in his 28AT (that has a sale pending as we speak) in 3-5s off the coast of Miami.

3-5's? Maybe right when we turned the corner going out of Virginia Cut. Ash and I could not see your boat running next to us unless you were on top. That’s a little higher in my opinion that a little higher than 3-5's. Nonetheless, Mike's 28 was impressive.

The 28 Savage is the best all round boat in the 27 to 30 ft single range that is out there, plain and simple. Drive one in rough or flat and you will not want anything else. I loved mine and may have to have another. Do yourself a favor and get a close look.

It was a VERY sad day when we had to let our 28AT go .
We would own another in a heartbeat if we could.
Rough water was never a problem (we had it in 4 of the 5 Great Lakes and the Atlantic too), and it turned heads everywhere we took it. Pat treated us like royalty!

These are great coments. I am excited at the prospect of building my next boat. Brian, you will be the first person I ring when that time comes.....unless I can get a bigger boat slip, and that aint going to happen. One last question. Is the 28 as hard on bravo drives as, say, a 29 fountain with the same 750 hp?
